MCN: Is the Suzuki GSX-R750 still the top road sports bike?
MCN reader Craig Carr wanted help deciding if he should trade his Suzuki K6 GSX-R750 for the K8 version or a Ducati 848 in this video road test. Senior road tester Michael Neeves added Kawasaki’s ZX-10 and Yamaha’s R6 to the test and then took Craig for a spin around the local roads before finishing off at Bruntingthorpe Proving Grounds. Watch the video below to see which one Craig chose and read the final article in MCN, Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Satisfy all your biking needs at www…

The 2008 R6 is alright but the CBR600rr is the best overall 600cc bike
K4 K5 K6 K7 & K8 Gsxr-750 are all real good bikes, I’m buying a Yellow & Black K4 750
I dont know i dhad a 600rr and i think that the r6 is faster on track & acceleration but i know that the 600r are really beatiful to drive
An excellent, honest review.
English retards no more
What about a Honda Interceptor? 800cc V4 it’s a great bike.
Is it just me who think the Ducati sounds like a lawnmower?
Nice realistic review from a level headed road rider. I’ve got a K7 750 and can’t imagine changing to anything else at the moment either.
r6 on the road is terrible
Wait…so if we read MCN, we can spend an entire day riding a delicious assortment of sportbikes around on the road? I wonder if he got payed too…?
its b/c there twin cam bikes, like aprilias
Tha’ts true Jurkowski HondaCBR is a way better…but its seems never seen a Honda CBR 1000RR been reviewed here in MCN?
‘06 gixxer750 with s/o can and pc3…nice!
great sure, but not the best looking. That would sort of kill it a little bit for me.
I think the R6 has a sharper acceleration than his 750, but once you’ve had a 750 and have handled its top end you can’t really downgrade as much to a 600, can only go up if not stay the same as he is doing
boo pussy, that zx10 to much for you and i love it it will spank the shit outta many bikes out there and give my zx14 a good chase . my next bike will be a turbocharged zx10
hmm, i prefer high reving 4 cylinders over raspy 2 cylinder engines.
what does he mean that a 600 is too revvvy?
the throttle and the power, its light weight. so its revy as in it rides as if its more powerfull.
you have to rev the balls of em to get the power, the new r6 redlines at 20,000 rpm!
No, it’s revvy as in “you have to rev it”. There is, by litre bike standards, very little power below 10,000 RPM. Basically, it makes for a great track bike, but a pain in the butt to live with daily since you have to change gears and rev a lot when overtaking etc.
to get power out of a 600 and especially the 06-09 r6 you have to be in a high rmp range… revy.
r6 power noticeably starts at 10,000
I bought a K7 750 and it is most definitely not a good bike for “long distance riding” and “big tours in the summer”. If that’s what you’re looking for save yourself the time and money and cross off all 5 of these bikes from your list.
K1200S, VFR, Sprint ST
Those are your choices
Yeah, and I can tell you’re a straight line kinda person. You can’t even touch the potential of the bikes you’re talking about. Talk is big, but the truth sticks out anyway.
Jealous Much ???
