Bob Farnham tunes Yamaha R1
The racing season has only just finished, but Senior Road Tester, Michael Neeves is already looking ahead to the 2009 season with his trusty 2007 R1 long term test bike. He took it along to Bob Farnham, one of the UK’s top engine tuners just down the road from Brands Hatch for an engine refresh and a bit of a tune. really annoying how he constantly buts in:(
would love to know how and what part of the air induction system he took of the bike
Yeah I noticed that too. He’s a bit of an poorly mannered twat and it shows in the way he speaks. The man should look up the word ‘inarticulate.’ Sad at his age.
*shudders*
the air injection system, its part of polution gearing, does nothing for power, just helps burn unburnt fuel, then you use smog block off plates to close the motor back up, removal also shaves a tiny bit of weight
Hi there just wondering if you could be of any assistance to me. Do you know if a 03 R1 engine would fit a 01 R1. I am aware that the fuel injection would need to be changed to carbs and that the ignition pick up coil would have to be changed. Is this possible? and are there any other mods needed. Your help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks
